The Culinary Institute Alain & Marie LeNôtre will host a wine tasting class and dinner at their campus on Tuesday, March 11th, at 5:30pm. Joe Abuso, founder of Abuso Catering Co., CIA alumnus, past president of the International Wine and Food Society, and national food & beverage consultant to hotels and restaurants will lead an informative and fun tasting.
Old World vs. New World Wines (Full)
The wines of the world are divided into two camps: Old World and New World, both of which offer the open-minded wine drinker an amazing variety and palette of flavors to choose from and explore. For this session, you will taste and learn to tell the difference between California Cabernet and red Bordeaux, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and Loire Valley Sancerre. This class will allow ample opportunity to discuss geography, wine making techniques and different styles of wines.
Wines for a Holiday Dinner
You will learn how to put together a wine menu to match their favorite holiday foods. From Aperitifs and Champagnes to Whites, Reds, Dessert Wines and Digestifs, a whole evening's beverage selection will be discussed and tasted, with special emphasis on matching wines with their best festives disches. A light dinner prepared by the Culinary Institute Alain & Marie LeNotre will follow.
